Extract from Spalding Guardian 29 March 2001:

Mums across South Holland were given pride of place on Sunday during Mother's Day celebrations.

Three mums who should really have had there feet up spent Mother's Day afternoon entertaining others.

Sally Huddlestone, Jackie Hallett and Yvonne Butter are members of Holbeach Town Band, which shivered its way through two hours of tunes at a cold Baytree Garden Centre in Weston.

The band played light background music outside the restaurant with donations going to its funds.

Band leader Mel Hopkin said "We were invited by Baytree to play some instrumental music for Mother's day.  It was quite chilly but the audience seemed to enjoy us."
