OPEN DAY

9 AUGUST 2001

The Band held its Open Day at its Band Room in Back Lane, Holbeach from 10.00am until 4.00pm.  We had a lot of visitors of all ages - the youngest was 4 years old and the oldest was in his eighties!

During the day members of the Band demonstrated the use of brass instruments to the visitors.  They also held impromptu practice sessions.

As a result of the Open Day a number of young people will be joining the Band's Learner Group which meets at 6.30pm on a Wednesday evening before normal Band Practice.

We also met two or three people who had played in bands in the past and expressed an interest in joining our Band.  We hope to see them at our next rehearsal.

At the rehearsal before the Open Day we had a visit from Nigel Hallam of Radio Lincolnshire who interviewed the Musical Director and other Band Members for his breakfast programme the following morning.

Our advert for the open day invited people to visit us in Back Lane, Holbeach from 10.00am until 4.00pm:

We provide all our members (and learners) with a musical instrument (subject to availability!)
