DAVID CURRY - TENOR 

David Curry is a Canadian Tenor currently with the London Royal Schools Opera, and keeps a busy schedule at home and here in Europe.  He has sung with many different opera companies and choral societies, and as soloist performing a wide range of works including art song and lieder.  Having the opportunity of working with such respected conductors as Sir Colin Davis and Steven Barlow. 

David started out singing on stage as a "G&S'er" playing many leading roles in Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.  Since then other roles have included Gomatz in the Canadian staged premier of Mozart's Zaide, St. Brioche in Lehar's classic operetta The Merry Widow, Giuseppe in La Traviata, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, as well as the Sorceress and Sailor from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

Now with the London Royal Opera Schools David has played Lechmeer in Britten's Owen Wingrave, The Amtshauptmann in Mozart's Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe and Tom Rakewell in Stravinski's The Rake's Progress.  David has also performed on a regular basis with Opera Hamilton and the Kitchener/Waterloo Opera as a chorus member and as a soloist with their ensemble group singing at various functions around Ontario.  This past summer David also took on the role of Femando in the Carlos Gomes opera Salvator Rosa for Dorset Opera.

Aside from Opera David regularly performs in concert a wide variety of material from many of the major choral/oratorio works.  David would like to specially thank the Countess of Munster Musical Trust for its support and assistance this year.
