CHRISTMAS 2005
2 December | We started the Christmas season helping the Spalding Band at their Concert at the South Holland Centre, Spalding. 12 of our band joined in a very pleasant concert. Our musical director played a euphonium solo and conducted the band when their musical director played the Post Horn gallop
3 December | Our first Saturday morning carol playing outside Somerfield Supermarket, Holbeach with a good balanced group.
3 December | During the evening we again joined Spalding Band for a Christmas Concert at Surfleet Church. There were only 7 of us and the band was a bit weakened.
5 December | Spalding Band again - this time a small group playing carols at a Masons Dinner.

11 December | Holbeach Christmas Fair. We played carols in the streets from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm. Then we went to the Holbeach United Football ground where we played carols at the opening of a new grandstand.
12 December | Played carols at the band's Christmas Bingo session run by fund-raisers Les and Brenda. Our musical director was absent but the Spalding musical director helped out. There was a good turn out to support Les and Brenda. They presented Yvonne, the band's chairman, with a cheque for £2400 for their efforts during the year.
16 December | Playing carols at a different Bingo session.
17 December | Carol playing at Somerfield supermarket.
17 December | The Band's Christmas Concert at Holbeach Methodist Church. The band played well to an enthusiastic audience; the musical director played a solo on the euphonium. We had a reasonable turn out including 3 from the Spalding Band and 2 of our own former members returned from University.
18 December | A group played carols in the day rooms at Holbeach Hospital.
18 December | Christmas Concert at Pinchbeck Church. The concert should have lasted one hour (according to the organiser) but actually took nearly two and a half hours! There were contributions from the Church choir, the local school and individual soloists (singer and organist).
23 December | Carol playing at Somerfield Supermarket in the evening.
24 December | Carol playing at Somerfield Supermarket in the morning. |
