Sun 14th June - Fleet Summer
Fete We were delighted to return to Fleet Hargate for the annual summer fete. The weather was good. We were a little late starting because we had to wait for the stage area to become free but we played well. We were short of a number of players (particularly solo cornets!) but we had help from some guests - Jacqui Templar and Martin Walters (solo cornets), Simon Templar and Heather Doubleday (trombones), Chris Strong (Bb Bass) and Malcom Doubleday (Percussion).
Sun
20th June - Holbeach Town and Country Fayre
We played at Holbeach Town and Country Fayre. It was a large event about 2 miles away from Holbeach. The weather was kind to us! It had been really hot, but this day it was quite pleasant. We were on the back of a lorry trailer. Access was via steps created from wooden pallets, which the organisers were still building while we were playing.. One of our members tripped on the steps and ended up in hospital - she has our best wishes for a speedy recovery. We had a number of guests to cover absentees at Fleet Hargate (thanks Matthew Simons (home from university) and Philip Mole (solo cornets), Hannah Palmer (2nd cornet), Denise Mole (tenor horn) and Chris Strong (Bb Bass)). We played 2 sets and included the football anthem Three Lions.
