I can confirm that the match has been postponed. Please get the message to all band members.

Paul King and Rosalind Sharman like this.

Paul King will pass on
10 February

Adam Reece As you said a couple of weeks ago, it was definitely-maybe-possibly going to be on the 11th. Seems you were right! ;)
10 February

Rosalind Sharman Fortunately, the players are to delicate to fight the snow, ice, cold and each other!!
10 February

Barry Cant Looks like Italy v England can viewed 'live' then. Maybe I'll play Grease and Pirates at home as a mark of respect at 2:30 - perhaps I can shiver appropriately to simulate real conditions.
10 February

Mel Hopkin Thanks all. I've texted everyone I've got a number for, emailed everyone I've got an address for, and put a note on the website. Hope I haven't missed anyone, or they will turn up and feel very cold (and lonely)!
10 February

Adam Reece Ros - is that the football players or the band members? Though in fairness, we don't seem to be at each other during practice in the few weeks I've been coming!
10 February

Mel Hopkin Have to admit that I don't know any football players.
11 February

Rosalind Sharman The football players, of course - since when do bandsmen fight with each other - except for who gets the best seat of course!! lol
11 February

Rosalind Sharman Sorry, that should have been the warmest seat!!!
11 February

Adam Reece UK low last night was -16C, recorded in Holbeach. Thought it felt a bit chilly this morning! Didn't it look pretty though with everything in white and the mist... :)
11 February

Chlöe Fielder When is the match postponed to ? Do we know ?
11 February

Mel Hopkin Don't know yet. Probably a Wednesday night (handy cos its our practice night) in a couple of weeks or so.
11 February

Rosalind Sharman
Freshly fallen snow does look lovely, especially on the trees against a lovely blue, sunlit sky. But beware the frozen snow covering icy paths and roads. Absolutely fine as long as you don't need to go out in it :)
11 February

Rosalind Sharman
Thanks Mel, think I've now had the message re cancellation about six or seven times! lol Never mind, better that than turn up and be lonely :( Still hoping to be there on Wednesday

Match is postponed. Pitch must be in a state if they've called it off this early!

THE prospect of any football this weekend is looking increasingly bleak after Thursday night’s snow.
10 February

Mel Hopkin Thanks Adam Reece. I'm checking with the Club just in case the paper has got it wrong!
10 February

Rosalind Sharman And there I was, thinking they can't be right in the head ! lol
10 February

Mel Hopkin Sorry for doubting the press!

Great practice tonight. Some good playing in Steven's absence - well done Laurence Watson Barry Cant and Kevin King. The new pieces sounded good.

Laurence Watson It always sounds better when Steve isn't at band..... ;-)

Adam Reece OK then, own up - who sabotaged my car so as I couldn't make it and ruin it all either?!
10 February

Kim Huddlestone Bless you Adam Reece. If it happens again see if i'm home as I live in whaplode and would have given you a lift...... Hope you get the car fixed soon...
10 February

Adam Reece Thanks Kim. It went just as I was accelerating out the village at the 50mph sign. Ended up in the closed lay-by at Wallisgate for an hour or so while I was recovered! Was glad I was in winter coat, hat, scarf and gloves by the time the truck turned up.

Sorry to miss tonight's rehearsal - I got as far as Whaplode and then the exhaust pipe decided to detach from the exhaust box. Would a metal-on-tarmac clanging fit the band's percussion needs?
