Extract from the LP Record Sleeve from the late 1970s:

Brian was born in the Fenland village of Parson Drove, and joined the local band when he was 10 years old, joining his father and brother.  For several years he played Tenor Horn.  After getting married and moving to Peterborough, he joined The City of Peterborough Band.  In 1963 he moved back to the Parson Drove area and for a short time he took the baton with the Parson Drove Band.  In 1969 he moved to Holbeach and in 1971 was a founder member of The Holbeach Community Band and became Musical Director in 1973.
